My cousin came visiting from the weekend and nearly all of us (my dad is not a fan I’m afraid) sat down to watch the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who. We’re Canadians without cable. We have to wait for our dose of Doctor. Beamish acted as the communal blanket.
so in Japanese, we sang Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
here’s a general gist of the translation:
Rudolph had a shiny nose
no one liked him
he cried every night
then one Christmas it was dark
Santa decided Rudolph’s nose was convenient (literally it says convenient)
Rudolph was useful.
I SHIT YOU NOT.
That’s basically the song without all of the fluff, though.
IT’S LIKE A VULCAN CHRISTMAS CAROL
Did you know? At one point Don Bluth was working on adapting The Velveteen Rabbit into a short film. Sadly it was never made, but we can look at these lovely layout boards and pretend it was.
aww man, thiiiisss woulda been a good one, I adore this story.
Damn… this would’ve been great.
Mostly I just go out for brunch.
For best results: Hype victory week the entire month before school ends, so everyone around you wants to do fun stuff too.
I can’t even put into words how happy this movie makes me.
- No love interest
- Mother/Daughter adventure
- Loving happy marriage between parents
- Show being a princess is a mother fucking JOB
Animated Characters’ Heights
